Have been really pushing myself at the gym recently.
Decided that just going and working within my comfort zone wasn't really doing any good so have stepped up to the plate and really started going for it. Has made a massive difference already.
I can feel my right leg strengthening and within a week all the day to day pain has pretty much gone. Have gone from pain when walking to being able to run on the treadmill for 20+ minutes without any discomfort. Have also increased the amount I can leg press by 30lbs in just over a week by pushing hard.
Just difficult to keep motivated knowing that once I get my operation its all going to go again, but the knowledge that anything I do now will speed up the process at the other end keeps me going.

Tuesday 5th December 2006 - possibly the worst day in the history of english cricket?
"Holders of urn exposed as impostors in ultimate arena."
"England's ineptitude was staggering, Its cricket yesterday was as uneducated as it was unedifying and its defeat among the most humiliating in the annals of the game."
I know that professional sport is a touch competitive world, and that you have to be naturally talented and unbelievably committed in order to succeed at the very highest level.
I also admit that whilst I like so many others have dreamt of playing sport at such a high level I have never had the determination, drive and opportunity (as well as natural talent) to achieve such highs…
However it does seem to me that English sporting representatives seem to forget the amazing opportunity that has been bestowed upon them every time they take the field to represent our great nation.
How exactly do you score 550+ in the first innings of a test match, and then loose?! Only us, only England could achieve such a feat! It was almost as if their natural instinct to lose took over!!
An aging Australia with two world class bowlers managed to make us look like a local comprehensive school team within two hours of the fifth day starting. We honestly looked as if we’d never played the game before!! Unbelievable, I couldn’t comprehend what I was watching!!
I’m sure these things happen to all the other major sporting nations, but the repetitive cycle of over hyping and then crushing disappointment seems to be engrained into our sporting culture in this country. Why do we bother to put ourselves through it?!!
"There have been some depressing days for England since they last won the Ashes in Australia 20 years ago, but few have matched yesterday in Adelaide for the mood of utter despair that settled on Andrew Flintoff's team."

News on my operation date
I called my specialists secretary yesterday to see if I could speed things up a bit.
Turns out my surgeon is leaving in January so they can't book anymore operations past december, and December is already solid....so she just said I have to wait until I hear from them...how frustrating.
So I looked into how much it would cost privately (I don't have BUPA or any other private cover so would have to pay for it myself)....
£4500!!!
So that ain't gonna happen!! Guess I just have to wait.
